What did European missionaries try to accomplish?

Catholic missionaries are attempting to fulfill their baptismal promises. To believe in Jesus Christ, is of necessity, to be a missionary. Anyone who sincerely believes in the Good News of God's salvation offered to every human being on earth, cannot help but share it. Anyone who does not pursue his vocation to be a missionary should not hold out a serious hope of the Beatific Vision.
