Why is the electron configuration for copper 3d10 4s1 - shouldn't it be 3d9 4s2?

The actual for copper is 3d10 4s1. 3d10 4s2 is Zinc. 3d8 4s2 is Nickel.

Among these Transition Metals [in this book], 3d9 4s2 is not listed. Help pls.
