How old do you have to be to get a cell phone plan?

You have to be the legal age of consent in your country. A minor legally cannot be given credit, or sign a contract in their own right. However - an adult could sign the contract on the minor's behalf (but THEY would then be liable of the child ran up a huge bill !)
