Why are stepmoms mean?

I believe they are not mean, but often just need getting used to. I have a step mom myself and she can come across mean sometimes, but is really very nice and only has my best interest on mind I'm sure that is the case with yours. If you have stepbrothers or sisters they may treat you a little unfair because that is her child and you are not, but after a while I'm sure you will be treated just as well.
