Why is yours a plural noun?

The Word 'yours' is not a noun at all. The Word 'yours' is a pronoun, a possessive pronoun, a Word that takes the place of a noun for something that belongs to you.

The possessive pronouns are: mine, yours, his, hers, its, ours, theirs.

Example: I brought some lunch. The sandwich is yours.
