Why was sirajuddaula not liked by the company's employees?

Sirajuddaula, the Nawab of Bengal, was often disliked by the employees of the British East India Company due to his autocratic rule, which threatened their interests and profits. His aggressive policies and attempts to assert authority over British trade operations were seen as a direct challenge to the Company’s dominance. Additionally, his lack of engagement and diplomacy with the British further alienated Company officials, contributing to their animosity towards him. This discontent ultimately played a significant role in the Company’s decision to oppose him during the events leading up to the Battle of Plassey in 1757.
