Berries, insects, and nectar are what the Purple Honeycreeper feeds upon.
Specifically, the bird in question (Cyanerpes caeruleus) can be found natively in northern South America. It favors living in the uppermost parts of trees. It has the common names o certiola de patasamarelas ("the yellow-legged certiola"), mielero cerúleo ("cerulean honeypot") and tucuso morado ("purple hummingbird") in Portuguese and el certiola de patas amarillas, mielero cerúleo and tucuso morado in Spanish.
