Can you keep a rat as a pet?

Rats are surprisingly very nice animals. They love to be with humans. If you are considering adopting a rat, please know that rats need at least 30 minutes out of their cage daily! Cages need to be cleaned weekly and the water needs to be filled to the top daily. Rats need tons of socialization if you don't want them to bite.
