Do betta fish defecate

Betta splendens? No they don't, they sink. This is why the male Betta blows a bubble nest, each egg gets a bubble and that's how it stays a float. Occasionally they will become unstuck and sink, it's the male Betta's job to catch it and put it back into the bubbles!
