When do cheetahs hunt?

The cheetah can only hunt effectively in open country where there is enough natural cover for it to stalk its prey from a few seconds to several hours before making its rapid chase. They kill its prey by suffocation. On average, an adult chettah eats 6.2 lbs. of meat per day.
