Who bought Harley in 1981?

Harley Davidson was founded by William S. Harley and Arthur Davidson in Milwaukee in 1901.

In 1969, the company was bought by AMF (American Machine and Foundry), who cut the workforce and streamlined production.

In 1981, following production problems and poor quality control which resulted in poor sales, AMF sold the company in a "management buy out" to a group of thirteen senior executives including Vaughan Beals and "Willie G" Davidson.
