What happened to picts?

The Picts were a group of tribes that lived in what is now Scotland during the late Iron Age and early Medieval period. They are known for their unique art and distinctive stone carvings. By the 9th century, they began to merge with the Scots, a Gaelic-speaking people from Ireland, leading to the formation of the Kingdom of Alba.
