What can be done to reverse the corrupting effects of society?

Philosophers & sages throughout the ages have provided all the answers to this. Alas, they have rarely been listened to because humans are, by nature, corruptible due to their (witting or unwitting) lust for power. As Lord Acton famously said:

"And remember, where you have a concentration of power in a few hands, all too frequently men with the mentality of gangsters get control. History has proven that. All power corrupts; absolute power corrupts absolutely."
