How do you make an engine?

in a steel container, put a piston on top. Then have some gas and ignition part. put the gas in, ignite in once in a while. the explosion will push away the pistons and it will come back down in a redundant action. this up and down motion will create a revolving motion where it will make wheels run. This is an engine.
