When was North America's first UFO sighting?

It was the mid to late 19th century, while driving a tractor a teenager found a crash site and it caused a huge stir for quite a while. This one is almost as well documented as Roswell NM in 1947. Actually the first documented sighting was in the 1800's I think in Texas not sure but i was watching the history channel and they were the ones who said the first documented sighting in the 1800's but without the communication ability as we have today not many knew about it.
