Here are the acid reactions.

Acid + Base = Salt + Water

Acid + Alkali = Salt + Water

Acid + Metal = Salt + Hydrogen

Acid + Carbonate = Salt + Water + Carbon dioxide.

NB An Alkali is a soluble base.
