Why is it important to recycle minerals?

Advantages

• relatively easy to recycle, metals can easily be melted down and reformed.
• Reduces scrap metal filling landfill sites.
• Process of recycling metals usually creates (much) less pollutants and greenhouse gases than extracting that metal from its ore.
• recycling for example aluminum only uses about 5% of the large amount of energy required to extract it from its ore.
• good for the earth,
• you can get money
• to some people it makes them feel good that they are doing something good
