Can you put a different toilet tank on an existing toilet bowl?

Sometimes. Most toilets have about the same spacing on the bolts that hold the tank to the bowl and there is some lea way in them. That's really the only issue, the foam seal between the two will make up for a lot of difference and most are the same.
