How good is the Canadian health care system?

I'm Canadian, and I've lived in 3 provinces. Our health care system is very good. It's not perfect, just like anything, but it is very good, and I would never want private health care. Here's one example: my husband's little cousin (she's 8) needed a heart translplant last year. When a heart became available, she flew on a private plane to the transplant location. The heart was flown in from its location of origin on its own place, and the surgery took 8 hours. She then had over three months of recovery to look forward to, all in the hospital. The whole thing cost over $1 000 000. It cost the family absolutely nothing, and it never will. Nor should it. Every child has a right to live, and that is what our health care system is based on. I don't care if it means that my coffee costs 20 cents more.
