1)You want to find a "hypoallergenic" hair dye. I believe the Clairol hair dye is hypoallergenic. They should say on the label.

2)You can use dyes like manic panic, they are veggie dyes so they are not harmful to your hair and probably won't be allergic to it. There are also other dyes that have been sold, which are like a foam thing, and you put it on and then it dyes your hair that color temporarily.

3) Paraphenylenediamine (PPD) is a chemical substance that is widely used as a permanent hair dye. It may also been found in textile or fur dyes, dark coloured cosmetics, temporary tattoo, photographic developer and lithography plates, photocopying and printing inks, black rubber, oils, greases and gasoline.

Using hair dye over the years causes anaphylaxis which is an acute multi-system severe type 1 hypersensitivity reaction and can be fatal (kidney, liver failure & death). Once you have an allergic reaction to the dye, it is with you for the rest of your life. hair dye seeps into the scalp and in the blood stream.

It is not fun going into anaphylactic shock and being rushed to the hospital.

the symptoms of an anaphylactic shock is:

mild cases usually only involves dermatitis to the upper eyelids or the rims of the ears.

In more severe cases, there may be marked reddening and swelling of the scalp and the face. The eyelids may completely close and the allergic contact dermatitis reaction may become widespread.

Severe allergy to PPD can result in contact urticaria and anaphylaxis which is life threatening, call 911.

I am not sure if manic panic has other ingredients that can trigger allergic reactions besides.

Best to read the content and google it to see what it is first, as always do a patch test for 73 hour even though the box says 24 to 48 hours. Allergies don't usually appear that quick.
