Why would you want to be valedictorian?

A reason someone would want to be a valedictorian is that it is a honor. It shows fellow classmates, faculty and parents how hard you worked and is an opportunity to represent your class. Also, only one person is picked to be valedictorian. You are able to give a speech and a final farewell to friends and acquaintances as you embark on your new adventures.
