St. Mildred is the patron saint of several causes, particularly associated with women and the education of girls. She is also recognized as a protector of the Isle of Thanet in England. St. Mildred was an abbess of Minster Abbey in Kent during the 7th century and is commemorated for her piety and leadership in the Christian faith. Her feast day is celebrated on July 13.
