Who bans books in America?

Religious groups- Legion of Decency, National office of Decent Literature- which way back in l934 drove 34 magazines out of business, and others. Generally speaking the churchmen, who now have far more urgent problems ( Child abuse, for one) to worry about were well the front line for censorship of books, films, comic books. etc.
