Parametric tests require several key conditions to be met: the data should be normally distributed, especially in smaller sample sizes; the samples should have homogeneity of variance, meaning they have similar variances; and the observations should be independent of each other. Additionally, the measurement scale should be at least interval or ratio level. When these assumptions are violated, the results of parametric tests may not be valid.
