How did crew socks get their name?

There was this gang, crew if you'd call it. It was run by a leader named Kelly. They had all worn their socks a certain way. On June 14th, there was a robbery in a convenience store, and Kelly's crew saved the day. they decided to join the police force since they knew where the bad areas in town were. They notified the officers on the force about their socks, and the news spread. A biography was made of their story years later made by young reporter Kassandra Phlippin-style. These socks were forever known as: CREW SOCKS.
