Following the end of Cook's term as Governor, Nicholas Van Dyke (born September 25, 1738 in New Castle County, Delaware; died February 19, 1789 in New Castle County, Delaware) became the seventh Governor of Delaware, serving between February 1, 1783 and October 26, 1786.
