New Jersey has experienced several solar eclipses in the past, notably on August 21, 2017, when a total solar eclipse was visible in parts of the U.S., though only a partial view was seen in New Jersey. Other notable solar eclipses occurred on June 8, 1918, and July 11, 1991. Additionally, an annular eclipse was visible on May 20, 2012, but again only partially in New Jersey.
