Two prime numbers p and q are said to be twin if q=p+2.

Twin prime numbers are numbers whose difference is 2, because they are the nearest together that any primes can be, with the exception of 2 and 3. Except for the Prime number 2, all prime numbers must be odd, so when two consecutive odd numbers are prime, they are called twin primes. There might be an infinite number of twin primes; that has not yet been proven. There are an infinite number of prime numbers.
