Average number of years that teachers last?

The statistic I have heard is that 5% of people with a degree in education last 5 years or more. Administratium, low pay and other circumstances make a difference. I am certain there are plenty of people who are certified to teach, but who find the environment unlivable. Very few professions have as much oversight and lack of autonomy as teaching does.
