How to know if a kitten is male or female?

Oh, dude, it's like this - to tell if a kitten is a boy or girl, you gotta look at its undercarriage. If you see two little dots close together, it's a dude; if there's a gap between them, it's a chick. Or you could just ask the kitten, but good luck getting a straight answer out of them.
