June to September is the bloom time for monkeyflower [Mimulus spp]. The plant grows 1 - 3 feet [30.48 centimeters - 0.9144 meters] straight upwards. It sports tube-shaped flowers that are only about one inch [2.54 centimeters] across. There are five petals that are more likely to be yellow to red in western North America, and pink to purplish blue in the eastern parts.
