All countries with a very high HDI rating can be found in Europe with the exception of Australia (2), the USA (3), New Zealand (5), Canada (5), Japan (12), South Korea (15), Israel (17), Singapore (26), UAE (30), Brunei (32), Qatar (37), Bahrain (42), Chile (43), Argentina (45), and Barbados (47). That means about three quarters of the most developed countries are European.

The non-European countries are Uruguay (48), Palau (49), Cuba (51), Seychelles (52), Bahamas (53), Saudi Arabia (56), Mexico (56), Panama (58), Antigua and Barbuda (60), Malaysia (61), Trinidad and Tobago (62), Kuwait (62), Libya (62), Grenada (67), Costa Rica (69), Lebanon (70), Saint Kitts and Nevis (72), Venezuela (72), Mauritius (77), Jamaica (79), Peru (80), Dominica (81), Saint Lucia (82), Ecuador (83), Brazil (84), Saint Vincent and the Grenadines (85), Colombia (87), Iran (88), Oman (89), Tonga (90), Belize (92), and Tunisia (94). That means about a third of highly developed countries are European. Roughly a third of these countries are also North American and the remaining third is mostly Asian.
North America, South America, Europe, Africa, Asia, and Australia & Oceania all have countries listed as either highly developed or very highly developed.
