Meat and vegetables are the two main areas. Ireland is obviously famous for potatoes, and they form a major part of the Irish diet still. They can be cooked in different ways: Fried, roasted, boiled, baked etc.Other vegetables include things like carrots, cabbage, turnips, sprouts etc.In terms of meat you have pork, beef and lamb as the main ones. You also have chicken and two a lesser extent other fowl. Turkey is common at Christmas and for some other major events and celebrations, but less common in normal situations.Fish is common too and with Ireland's strong Christian beliefs, it is especially popular on Fridays. Ireland is also an island and has lots of rivers, so getting fish is not difficult. Basic fish like cod, haddock, whiting, mackerel, salmon etc. are common. The Irish also eat international foods like Chinese, Indian, Italian etc.
