Is prank calls against the law?

well,according to state law,prank calling is illegal,but it depends on what you say,like for example,you call somebody and you like complant to pizza hut but its not Pizza hut on the phone and you don't use any innapropriate Words then that's not illegal.but if you call 9-1-1 and like prank call them, then...........

These days, the capability exists to trace all calls to an originating number and you can be prosecuted. If you "prank call" a business and order services or products from them, and it as a bogus order, you could be prosecuted for "theft of services."

what about if someone calls u and pretends it is sears or a store thats illegal
