The fine is dependent on the number of MPH you were traveling over the posted limit, and the county in which you received the ticket. There is a base fine (ranging from $35-$100), followed by various county, state and court "fees" which increase the total cost to $146-$380 as follows: 1-15 MPH over the limit: $146 16-25 MPH over the limit: $266 >/= 26MPH over the limit: $380 There are also 30 (of 58) counties in California that have an exception to add additional fees; these vary by county.
