Guo Shoujing was a prominent Chinese astronomer and engineer during the Yuan Dynasty (1271–1368). He is best known for his contributions to astronomy, particularly for his work on the construction of astronomical instruments and the improvement of the calendar system. Guo also played a significant role in water conservancy projects, including the development of irrigation systems.
