What is a duck's niche?

They stay in fields and on the surfacae of the water. They range from S.Canada to N.Mexico. The eat nuts, fruits, small fish, grains, and seeds. They eat more nuts and fruits than any other type of duck. They usually live in open woodlands, hence their name.
