zinc is more electropositive and therefore is highly reactive metal.hence it can not be easily displaced from its solution of ZnSO4.on the other hand,copper is less electropositive and can be readily displaced from its solution more active metal such as zinc.

Zn + Cu2+ ------> Zn2+ + Cu
