Strom Thurmond's filibuster of the 1957 Civil Rights Bill, which took just over 24 hours.

Thurmond was among the racist Southern politicians who opposed the Bill, which was an attempt to give some Black Americans the vote. The Bill was eventually passed and became law, but by that time it had been watered down and was largely ineffectual.
