Who is piggy in the lord of flies?

In Lord of the Flies piggy is the fat boy with the specs(glasses) who is like basically a wimp. He relies on Ralph as his protection...Piggy is killed at the end of the book he is murdered he gets killed by like a boulder...i know he gets crushed
