Jedidiah Morse was an American pastor, geographer, and educator. He is best known for his work in geography, particularly for publishing the first American atlas and teaching geography at various institutions. Additionally, he played a significant role in the establishment of the American Tract Society and was involved in promoting education and moral instruction in the early 19th century. Morse is often referred to as the "father of American geography."
