How do you react if your dad hits you?

I'm not sure, but I am petrified of my dad. He calls me names that he knows are personal and make me feel horribly hurt. He calls me emo, which hurts me do much. It makes me miserable, and I start defending myself seeing as nobody else will and then he becomes unfair and starts hitting me. What I do in response is go upstairs and cool off. I usually listen to my music. I sometimes consider running away because I'd rather die than continue but I'm only 12 do that's not possible. I haven't any friends I can trust and it's hard but if I were you I'd just forget him. Im scared to post this cus ppl sometimes say they'll report but that will ruin my life even more. Trust me, and stay away from him, and you should be okay.
