Taste buds are located on the upper surface of the tongue, as well as on the roof of the mouth and the back of the throat. They contain sensory cells that detect different flavors like sweet, salty, sour, bitter, and umami. When food particles come into contact with these taste buds, they send signals to the brain, allowing us to perceive and enjoy different tastes.
