What are two main types of blood donation?

1) Allogeneic Blood Donation - A qualified blood donor donates blood for unknown recipient. The donation process in which a donor directly donates blood to a family member, relative or friend is called Directed Blood Donation.

2) Autologous Blood Donation - A person's blood is temporary preserved and will be transfused back at him after a surgery.
