The Hebrew phrase "mi chamocha" ("who is like you") opens Exodus 15:11, which reads "Who is like you among the gods, Lord? Who is like you, majestic in holiness, awesome in glory, working wonders?" This is a central verse of the Song of the Sea, which Exodus describes as a spontaneous prayer of Thanksgiving said by Moses after the crossing of the sea. This particular verse has found its way into the Jewish liturgy as part of blessings said before the Amidah in the morning and evening service that end "praised be the Lord, redeemer of Israel."
