components of data communication are as follow:

transmitter or receiver of data: this may be terminals,computer and mainframe etc.

medium:it is the medium though which the data is being transmitted.These are cabling,radio frequency,microwave, fiber optics,infrared,wireless etc.

receiver:as it name implies,it is the device,which receives the data transmitted,these are printers, terminals,mainframs,computers.cell phone etc.
