Why does it take women LONGER to get over a relationship than men?

Don't just blame the men on this one because women are just as bad (neck-in-neck) and the posts on this board prove it.) Many of us forget we are just human and make mistakes and sometimes we didn't know how good we really had it until it was too late and that covers all aspects of our lives and not just love. We can't change the mistake, but we sure can learn from it. If your ex made a mistake and is a good person and is really trying to rectify the problem remember "to err is human". It's worth a second chance in many cases. My second husband (when we were going together) got cold feet because I don't believe in living together forever without commitment and I stick to that. My theory is, that if that person loves you enough then commit! We separated for 6 months and I was hurt, but slowly getting on with my life when he hopped right back in by phoning me. I didn't make it easy for him to come back into my life because I don't like games and I don't think there is any excuse for the lack of communication. Everyone has a right to their options and thoughts on any subject including how they feel about commitment to marriage. I was never given that chance by my boyfriend. Finally I accepted the ring he had been trying to get me to take for 3 months and I felt that he had grown from this experience and I felt more secure in our relationship. We've been happily married for 34 years this August. Because of their ego. At first they think their better off. Until they start to remember the happy times that they have had with that significant other and or kids. And any other men are like me I still lie in bed at night awake thinking about my mistakes
