Is a 4 cylinder or a 6-cylinder better in the mountains?

Based on my experiences with different types of motor vehicles, a 6 cylinder car is definitely a better type of vehicle to have when traversing moderate to steep inclines. The more powerful the engine the more easily it can deal with the total vehicle load it is carrying.
