Why hero group merge with Honda?

Honda a Japan based company wanted to extend its buisness globally and saw a large market in indian territory. it cant directly come into the indian market because of certain govt. policies. so it was looking for a company in India. hero, a bicycle manufacturing company also want to expand its buisness to next level, and looking for new technology and financial support. so hero gave visa to honda to come in the country and expand its buiness with this merger. so the merger happened between both of them.
