Can you get cell phone service in the White Mountains?

Cell phone service in the White Mountains of Arizona is sporadic, and totally dependent upon your location. I would say cell phone coverage area is best in population centers and along major highways, but areas of zero service are common even within these areas and probably depend upon the topography of the area in relation to cell tower antenna locations. Coverage is better near larger towns (Show Low, Eager/Springerville, etc...), while in places like Greer you can expect a cell phone quiet vacation (opinion based on observations made in March, 2008).
